IBPS Clerk guide
What is IBPS Clerk?
IBPS Clerk recruits Customer Service Associates (clerks) for public-sector banks under IBPS's Common Recruitment Process. Clerks handle front-office banking operations β cash handling, account opening, passbook updates, cheque processing, and customer queries.
The exam has no interview β final merit is purely based on Mains marks, making every question in Mains directly count toward selection. Recruitment is state-wise, and proficiency in the state's official language is required.
IBPS Clerk is at JMG Scale (Office Assistant Multipurpose) with starting basic pay of βΉ11,765 (as per the bipartite settlement revised structure) β but post-revision and with allowances, the gross in-hand is typically βΉ28,000ββΉ35,000 per month. With performance-based promotions, clerks can become Scale I officers within 3β5 years.
